6. 接続詞としての「as」 — 譲歩（〜ではあるが）

27. Young as he is, he is very wise.  

    → 若いけれども、彼はとても賢い。

28. Tired as I was, I kept working.  

    → 疲れていたけれども、私は働き続けた。

29. Simple as it may seem, it’s actually difficult.  

    → 一見簡単そうだが、実は難しい。

7. 副詞としての「as」 — 主に比較構文（as … as）

30. She is as tall as her brother.  

    → 彼女は兄と同じくらい背が高い。

31. This bag isn’t as expensive as that one.  

    → このバッグはあちらのものほど高くない。

32. He doesn’t run as fast as he used to.  

    → 彼は昔ほど速く走れない。

33. It’s not as easy as it looks.  

    → 見た目ほど簡単ではない。

34. I have as many books as you do.  

    → あなたと同じくらい本を持っています。

8. その他・特殊な用法

35. Such animals as lions and tigers are dangerous.  

    → ライオンやトラのような動物は危険だ。（such … as）

36. This is the same book as I lost yesterday.  

    → これが昨日なくしたのと同じ本だ。

37. As usual, he was late.  

    → いつものように彼は遅刻した。（as usual = 慣用表現）

38. As for me, I prefer tea to coffee.  

    → 私に関しては、コーヒーよりお茶が好きだ。（as for = 〜に関しては）

39. You can take as much as you want.  

    → 好きなだけ取っていいよ。

40. As long as you study hard, you’ll pass.  

    → 一生懸命勉強する限り、合格するよ。

特に接続詞の「理由」「同時」「比例」の3つが日常会話・文章で最も頻出です。
